As inbound tourism continues to grow, resort destinations in Japan, once regarded as symbols of the collapse of the bubble economy, and whose very concept had become increasingly indistinct—are once again attracting attention. In this issue, we take this opportunity to examine the initiatives needed for Japan’s resorts to develop into regions with universal value on the international stage.
